About us

Our story begins in 2014, when we re-planted a vineyard on our old family estate. The estate stretches over three hectares, and our wine and other products are named In Sylvis (lat. In forests). The village in which we grew up and where the vineyard is located was named after the monastery that history remembers as Monasterium Sancti Petri in Sylvis (en. The Monastery of St. Petar in the Forests) - hence the name of our wines and products. Somewhat distant from the village itself, our estate is surrounded by nature and a peaceful feeling that only a forest can provide.
Out of this feeling of tranquility our vision emerged: we are set to lend all the best that the Istrian soil has to offer and with immeasurable love and dedication produce wine that will enchant you with its personality, taste, and smell.

Our vineyard is located in the heart of the Istrian peninsula, in the village of Sveti Petar u Šumi. Somewhat distanced from the village, it is surrounded by nature and forest.

More than 7 400 vines of Istrian Malvasia and 1 500 vines of Merlot, Teran and Cabernet Sauvignon are planted on 2,1 hectares of land. The cultivation method is a traditional single Istrian guyot that gives grapes of high quality and controlled yields. This, in combination with the traditional cultivation method and Mediterranean climate provided by the vicinity of Lim Valley, results in a unique terroir of central Istria that characterizes In Sylvis wines.

In addition to the grapevine, olives of Istrian Bjelica, fig-trees, and other fruits and vegetables are planted on our estate and we use them to produce other products and foods served at our wine-tasting room.

The wine offer includes In Sylvis Istrian Malvasia, Florens Rose and sprakling malvasia Tempora Anni, as well as Arbor (lat. wood) matured wines Malvasia, Cuvée, and limited Baćun Teran.

The story about wine and vineyard in the forest is completed with our luxury labels with forrest motives, printed on real wood instead of paper.
